Jo Ruchel

Joanna Ruchel is influenced by the things which surround her.

Trained as a ceramicist she worked as a production potter in the Ballarat area over a long period of time.

Much of her work contains references to pots made by her or other potters. The landscape and garden are also strong influences. Her work is based on colour and texture. Often collage, the work is layered with colour and is often painted several times with other materials including wire added.
